About the Project

Upskilling Volunteer Managers in Sport (UVMIS) builds on the success of the EVIDEMS Erasmus+ project but this time, it’s all about experienced volunteer managers in sport. UVMIS aims to boost the quality and recognition of volunteer management by creating advanced training and learning tools tailored for those already active (or formerly active) in the field.

With hands-on testing by 180 volunteer managers and pilot training for 18 more, the project ensures real-world relevance. The materials will also help bridge the gap between informal experience and formal qualifications, making it easier to validate and recognise the skills gained on the job. Through a vibrant Community of Practice, online events, and outreach in 7 countries, UVMIS is driving a shift in how volunteer management is viewed—highlighting its vital role in both grassroots and global sporting events, and helping retain skilled talent across the sector.
