On the 19th of June 2026, 21 participants from the French speaking communities in France and Belgium  joined the 4th UVMIS Community of Practice session.  The participants explored how volunteer programmes are designed and managed within the sports sector with a particular focus on practical, field based experiences. Building on previous discussions, participants reflected on how sports volunteer management approaches can be adapted to different organisational realities, especially in context where resources, time and capacity may vary. Participants also had an opportunity to share their experiences, discuss challenges and identify practical ways to strengthen sports volunteer engagement, structure activities, and ensure sustainability in their day to day work.

The participants were introduced to the findings of the panorama on volunteering in sport that was developed through the UVMIS project to show a connection between theory and practice on the field. This helped them better understand the current situation and reflect on it by drawing on their experiences and practices.
